Not crying or groveling here. Consider this as a typical common story that I hear on a semi-regular basis.
Within the last couple weeks I caught wind of 2 '40s coaches in Aragon, Mexico. Same owner, who did not have indoor storage for either.
Both were for sale!
Both run. One was in great original condition - a Cadillac, carved! The other needed some minor attention but was still licensed and on the road - a Buick.
A couple of my taxicab driving friends were dispersed to find the owner. Took them a few days. When they did find him, turns out that the coaches sold about 2 months ago. Both went to the same new owner and now belong to a funeral home. Ah well. Guess every lead I get isn't fresh.
Know what the pisser is though..? They sold for a *whopping* 50,000 Pesos each: about $3800 US!!! One of the many reasons speed is of the essence south of the border...
