I suggest knowing jet engines very well before attempting a jet engine installation (I'm just a mechanic when it comes to turbines), and keeping the burner section outside the vehicle; otherwise, when you shut it off, your hearse is likely to catch on fire. Keep in mind that it will be red hot metal. Unless you're just running it on the drag strip, you'll need the original engine as well, and probably a different stall converter to keep the engine from overspeeding. The tailgate should not be on hinges, but slide straight up the pipe and latch after the engine has cooled down. If you have a hush kit, you should probably remove it, or you'll need a two-piece tailgate.

Also, will it be a true TJ, hush kit, or a fan? You will need an enormous source of air into the intake, or the compressor will stall, especially if you have a bypass engine (with a fan). A turbine engine will run on gasoline, but the the air source will be even more critical, because your flame will be hotter, and will have to be absolutely centered inside the cans or annular burner to keep from burning holes in the shields.

This type of installation is best for the drag strip, salt flat, or for sending a rice boy's car to a fiery hell.

Have you seen that sport where they put a jet dragster in front of a rice burner and melt it down? Sorry if that's what the video was...I have a habit of not watching videos in Utubes. I can only see a computer screeen with one eye, and that's not much fun. I saw it on TV, though, and it was just boiling, melting, refried fun.

The one on Mythbusters where the sh*tbox ran around the road outside the airport (I don't think they had blast fences in that country) as a 747 was taking off, and the car rolled around and around was pretty hot too.

There was an asshole on the Burlington ramp next door who used to turn his DC8 to us and open the throttles on the way out. I knew to grab the nose gear of a Convair, which left my feet and legs hanging straight out, but a VIP executive from Emory didn't know what to do, and he got rolled around on the ramp until he almost hit a blast fence. A ladder stacked with tools went rolling across the ramp, scattering them everywhere too. That asshole pilot got fired.

Just as some people don't know the power of their guns (an AK47 will shoot a hole in 3/8" steel), some don't know the power of their aircraft. I pull back to idle when I turn past people on the ramp, in any plane. I once watched a Convair with the tail stand left on, and when it went to taxi out, the tailstand hit the blast fence, and the pin and streamer, you know, the tag that says "REMOVE BEFORE FLIGHT, DUMBASS", went over the top of the fence and through the windshield of someone's car. How many people know that it only takes 40 mph of wind to knock you on your ass, and not much more than idle to suck you into a jet or fan intake? It's best not to ignore those little stickers at the jet drag strip.

Melting down rice grinders is a HOOT.... Usually we get them running first... Put them on their side stand.. Duct tape throttle wide open... sell chances on long it takes to eat its babies.... And FIRE IT UP..... after that is over... throw it on bonfire.... great fun....Kinda fun watching the owner figure out how he is going to get home the next morning.....
