Of course its ok, what do you care? Are you buying any of them? If not then please go dictate to someone who gives a shit. Its their money and last I checked we still live in America so I'm pretty sure Obama hasn't revoked our right to purchase cars yet......emphasis on the word yet.

Seen your car even back when it was on EBAY some time ago (dont know if you owned it then or not). I didn't like it then and don't like it now. It is the epitome of what I dislike about truly ruining funeral cars....why don't we put up another rediculous poll.... To bastardize a beautiful old coach and make it a rolling Halloween prop or not? If you wanted a muscle car, go buy a chevelle and leave the coaches to people that like them for what they are not for the attention you can draw from being a moving spectacle. See.....opinions suck....and I'm joking about the poll....its your money your car do what you want with it just don't bag on people that collect them for different reasons than you. Any hearse owner is part of a rare breed which I believe is dwindling in numbers.... be happy you own one.

I don't take issue with a bone yard that dismantles these cars for parts sales as they keep a supply of parts to hobbiests.

Sharing info and stories does not need to equal doing NOTHING with these cars!

Me jealous? No. It would be those people that merely aquire restoreable vehicles simply for the sake of "Gee look, I got more junk cars in my yard than Billy-Bob".
Lot of variables in play here.

Difference in a car sitting as opposed to the crusher? Presence. If not for sale now, it will be in the future. Patience and time are on our sides. Hoarder passes over the rainbow, hoards become cheap rather quickly when family cleans up. Or there is a public sale, in which case inundation to the market (usually poorly advertised) almost ensures that price gouging does not take place. I've seen this happen time and time again.

Nature verses nurture; Mother Nature verses Father Time.

Again, location dependent. Mass hoard of vehicles in the rust belt makes less sense than a mass hoard in a dry, arid climate - or the Pacific Northwest.

Never personally met one of these hoarders that bragged honestly. It is a sickness - not one I poke fun at.

Enter crusher to the equation and that car is GONE.

Welcome - see you didn't waste time fitting in. =)

I am of split opinions on this. I used to work at a mustang only junkyard, and I saw plenty of cars that came through that I thought 'man, I could save that one!' and I heard a phrase that has stuck with me since "You can't save them all".

There is some logic that says that the hoarder is what preserves a car until the right buyer and circumstance are there. If it weren't for them, we wouldn't find these field cars that need some love but have a fighting chance. If every asshole with a plasma cutter and a welder thought they could save a car and end up fucking it up worse (that'd be me) got ahold of a field of cars, we'd have nothing left and would have to rely on putting shitboxes back together from wrecks and post halloween sales.

There is also the logic of - it's your shit, do what you want with it.

Then there is the jealousy aspect of 'you have something I want and you aren't giving it to me'. I suppose it's the same type of philosophy of you see a smoking hot chick and think 'man, I'd like to get with that action' and your friend reminds you 'she may be hot, but someone has to put up with her bullshit'.

Now you resort to insulting my car? Where do you think you are the PCS board? After 4 posts no less. I call for a ban.

That car is a perfect example of what I am talking about. It was just sitting in a field full of cats and rats. The owner did the right thing and put it up for sale as he could not afford to fix it.

I still feel that if you are not going to fix, restore, or make good use of an old car, then give some one else the opportunity that will. Letting them rot out of selfishness is just sad. Atti claims it is "Nature vs Nurture". Too many times Mother nature wins and the car is too far gone.
There are hundreds of posts here from people that want an inexpensive Hearse. I wish some of these hoarders would find the generosity in their hearts to let these people make a dream come true.

Zach and I have had a conversation about this exact thing at least a hundred times. I think everyone that has been in this hobby/life for any length of time and has tried to sell a cheap car has had people that have come with the 'Can I make payments on that 500 bucks??'. The terrifying thing of this is that if you need a payment plan on 5 bills, you probably aren't going to be able to dedicate any real funds to the fixing of the car you bought. So there is probably an economic factor that comes into play and the future of a car. If you don't need the money, and you don't need to sell the car - why not hold out for someone who has the cash to fix it? The texas field car is a good example of dry storage for an eternity - he can sit on those things for another 30 years and all they'll do is appreciate in value and become more rare, even if they find themselves in worse shape.

And for the record, my car pretty much sits because I'm lazy and have another 2 dozen projects going on at any given time.

Seriously Bigevil.....YOU threw your car to the wolves by offering up the "you obviously haven't seen my old car" comment..... my opinion varies from yours therefore ban me.....grow up....did I call for a ban after you insulted hoarders with much worse language? No, I disagreed with you. I don't even know what a PCS board is and don't frankly care. Hey, my dream of hoarding the unloved and weeded out is coming true....I wish people would be RESPONSIBLE for making their own dreams come true.......just like me..... in every facet of life not just in cars.....some of the ones I've collected have taken years to pry out of the previous owners hands and are in BETTER hands with me.....as part of my collection is in a 40x60 pole building.

wow, some blind opinions. I absolutly love the 41 Willies, both is stock and Gasser form. To say one form is better than the other is just ignorant. You have your likes and dislikes. Dont send the guy who "butchered" the Hearse a card on Christmas and dont kiss him on the mouth for his birthday. Thats why there are car clubs, and garages for guys to drink beer in. When you can drink beer, that is.
