wow that is quite a project..but anything can be done..all just depends on how much you can do yourself...as far as titles..in my state missouri all you have to do is get a state trooper to verify the vin..run a check and if not stolen or registered in someone elses name you get another form carry it to the dmv and get a title back in about a week...but i dont know how it works in florida

Just an update for you guys:

Towards the end of May, after going back and forth with the guy, he finally sent me an email and told me he had found the title. He mailed it to me and to my surprise it was the title; however, it was the title from where he and his ex had purchased the car....and the ex had signed the back of the title. On top of that, there was no accompanying Release of Liability paperwork. The state of Florida would not accept the title, I know because I called and begged. So he eventually gave me his ex's contact information and I started dealing with her.

When I contacted her about the title I could tell over the phone that she was flabbergasted. She apologized repeatedly and told me that he had told her months and months ago that he had sent me the title. She said that she would absolutely register the car in her name and then send me a clan title. I sent her the copy I had and yesterday I received in the mail my clean title.

So, onward and upward and on to restoring my car.

          Hey, here's an idea...

Why don't you try to convince the ex to give you a sympathy encounter for your trouble? He's probably put her through quite a bit. You could ask to meet her in person, the two of you could talk, buy her a few drinks, and who knows where the evening might lead?

Heh! Well, it might be worth it if I lived in Cali, but being in Florida puts a damper on that.

In an unrelated event, does Jesus have a boner in your picture? Because that would be awesome.

Well, now, that's controversial, and I posted a link to the news story originally. The picture is of a crucifix statue that was comissioned by a church in Oklahoma, and this is what they got. The artist insisted that it was supposed to show a distended abdomen and not a penis and testicles. Some of the church members disagreed and walked out...others were not endowed by their creators with fully-functioning minds and continue to praise the statue to this day. What I want to know is...how many Catholic parishioners still believe in slapping their kids for laughing their asses off in church, because how else could they possibly have reacted?

I know where your title is... Amanda took a loan out on the car when she bought it from me, I am betting the bank still has it.
