  • Insurance blues.....

Hey, I'm wondering if anyone else has had trouble insuring their coaches. State farm swears I'm using an incorrect VIN. They claim it comes back in their system as "unfinished from the factory". To which I respond, yes, it left the factory unfinished, to be completed by the coachbuilders. It's currently listed on the policy as a fleetwood-I said if there's an option for a commercial chassis, that might help...
If anyone has encountered this Obstacle or knows any way around it, I'll appreciate it....

I have State Farm, and I have had no problems with them at all with my coach for over 15 years. Your coach has a couple different VIN's on it, one for the original chassis, and one for the coach build itself. Try giving them the other one also.

Yep, your coach has a "Z" in the VIN# which means an incomplete car from the factory. Many insurance agencies won't insure them. Allstate has no problem insuring all my coaches... knowing they are all commercial chassis cars. Here's a long thread we did on this subject to help you along:

Mine has the Z number too, no problem with State Farm, listed as a Fleetwood, don't remember if was listed as a 4 or 5 door, but I think 5. Liabilty only, so maybe They didn't care what it was. They know it's a hearse.

The vin from superior is on the drivers door, yeah? Didn't think of it having a separate vin. Thanks for the help. Gotta admit, It's been a long, expensive, and frustrating road just in these few months of ownership. Not complaining, though-it's worth driving the car I've wanted since I was 15. Hell, my wife wants one now!

I have a Z vin through state farm as a hearse. They even have pictures of all my hearses. What year and coachbuilder?
