  • New to the world of Pro Cars

Hey guys... I'm new to Hearses, etc (been into them for a while but never looked to buy one, until I came across THIS on Craigslist just a few miles away!

Guy wants 1200 for it, its a 71 Superior built on Caddy chassis... needs tires, windshield, ignition coil and TLC

Welcome to the NHAA. You'll find a fair amount of knowledge here, a bunch of wit, and almost no 'air of prestige' like another hearse/ambulance forum.

Commercial windshields are very expensive. Keep that in mind with whatever you decide to buy. I do know of a used '71-'76 windshield in NC 275 miles from you that can be purchased for $300.

Riff is good people. If you get it, get it running and join the Unholy City Hearse Club, on one of our runs to the cemetery. Can't get Riff to come out and play. www.facebook.com/UnholyCity or www.facebook.com/eddieinsc

Can NOLAHEARSE come out to play? Now that They are officially banned from all the major ones in New Orleans.

Welcome! That's a pretty sweet coach, at a very reasonable price. Id spring for it. Just a fair warning though, once you get a hearse, life as you know it will change. And it was metioned elsewhere on the forum, but hearses are pack animals. From now on you will be scouring yards and funeral homes for crusty retires pro cars. Jus something you must learn to live with. Should take about 46 seconds to learn to live with. Then you'll learn to love it. That won't take long either Haha! Enjoy your stay. These guys know their shit man. Keep posted!!

Nothing wrong with a Limo Style hearse. I actually think the 1971-77 Superiors look better as Limos. Would this be a combo?

It is a combo. Has the mounting hole for the red lights, wind down rear windows, foldable jump seats, A/C and heat in the back (not currently working). Aside from the minor rust, and some of the exterior, the inside looks fantastic. Cab area is pretty much immaculate (not 100% but better than I am used to)!

I love combos. I chose my 59 Park Row, over a 59 Victoria, because I love having the extra seating in the back.

Yeah, I just need money... won't get paid till next week :-(

I really do like it, I'm lost as where I'd start to get it road-ready
