Made over a dozen phone calls this morning following up on several leads. Some are working out...others not - par for course. Of note?
'58 Eureka Landau 3-way I found out about a couple months ago. Didn't have name, number, or contact information - just a general location (7 hours away). Lead came from a guy that has known about it for 10, maybe 12 years. He had a price all along - which was MORE than reasonable - and never acted not knowing if the table was present. Lots of light surface rust, original color either dark blue or black, interior piled with crap. With the Hartung '58 Eureka bringing stupid money, I made tracking this a priority...
Found a name and number! It was scrapped along with 400 other cars either late '10 or early '11 after being last seen Fall, '10.
Another lead will take more work. Owner scrapped 2(!) rough late '50s Eurekas 4-5 years ago after removing and keeping all the parts. His number has been disconnected. Found an address online though and will follow up. Had these parts already come to market, they would not have slipped by myself and a couple friends.
Pics coming of a solid restorable '52-'53 Packard combination.
Another place has both '67 and '68 landau hearses. One is a Superior. One does not have a partition. Owner has promised to take pics.
The most intriguing lead is the one w/ the least amount of info. Came from a guy who only runs '60s Lincolns in demolition derbies. One can assume he knows those Lincolns well. So imagine my surprise when he mentions a '62-'63 Lincoln landau hearse! Are you friggin' kidding me??? Never even seen a pic - sort of inspired to fire up ye ol' Photoshop and take a stab at making one until I find more out.....
