  • 2013 NHAA Sotheastern Regional Meet

For those not able to view on FB.

Figured easier to come up in search if there was a separate picture thread for meet. If a mod wants to combine with original meet thread that's fine too.

Video of hearse procession uploaded to FB seemed to have degraded quality. May reattempt on YouTube later for further sharing.

Something that you'd consider attending next year Dwayne?

"Reapers Rod", was cool. I'm hoping to put mine back on the road later this year. Hopefully I'll be able to attend.

Otto you'd be welcome in any vehicle.

Ryan, are you certain about that date without checking scheduling conflicts?

I will try and look into it, but Im almost certain that the National Haunters Convention is always the first weekend in May. It has the 2 years Ive done it. I will try to find out if that is true. There are some people that will always take their hearses to the convention, they are the haunters. I cant speak for my whole club or others that are near by, but I know I would love to go next year if I am able to afford(hopefully should). But Im sure at least 1 or 2 more than me might be interested, but it should be on a different date, since I know almost all them will go with closer than long distance.

It's definitely not set in stone by any means. The conclusion i got from our fireside chat meeting sunday was that may is full of conflicts. Cemetery Knights said they could not do the first weekend in June. Our other choice would be last weekend in April. In prior meetings, CK said weather in west virginia is still questionable then, and they might get snowed in.

I want to get DEHC's Picnic of D00M (tm) planned, and then maybe in early June we can get the planning committee back together for a conference call.

I wouldn't say that the last weekend in April would be completely out of the question. We occasionally get snow in April. When we do get snow that late in the season, the state road dept goes crazy slinging salt everywhere so they don't have to store it for the next year. So much so that it takes a decent amount of rain after the fact to clear it out. Anyway, I can say if this would come about my car will stay in the garage. However, this year I was beginning to wonder if it was going to snow in Asheville, lol, and it was quite a bit warmer in WV.

As far as the June dates go, that would most like be out for us. The cost of travel and hotel would be too much that close together and tough as far as getting time off from work that close also. I can say this, that even with a month between this and midwest haunters, it still prevented one of our members from coming down and caused another member to drive down and back home on Saturday to save the hotel costs. Also, these old cars tend to heat up a bit climbing the mountains on the trip to Asheville and the June dates have a better chance for higher temps.
