  • Emergency Advertising

Emergency Advertising was the name of an ill-fated NYC business attempt that lasted a couple short years. Some of you have been around long enough to remember it. Sandy Grossman was the owner and was single-handedly responsible for screwing up numerous late '50s hearses and ambulances. (He's been referenced on this forum previously.) This guy repeatedly took nice originals and rare examples and so heavily modified roofs to handle billboard weight that returning to stock at a later point became unfeasible.

When NYers failed to embrace his wholly lame idea, coaches started being sold off on eBay ('01 maybe?). I don't know how many there were total but guesstimate mid-teens. Most survive in one form or another.

Lets archive his FUBARs in one place for future reference. Others are encouraged to add saved images.

I personally hope this guy rots in hell for a couple reasons.

1-of-1 '58 Franklin luckily made it through unscathed. Emergency Advertising had tanked before this was converted.

'57 Superior Landaulet combination. This started as an amazing all-original survivor. Nauseating.

Is that 57 still in existance? That was a beautiful and rare coach.
