  • Hearse in NewOrleans Cemetery photo shoot

We went today to the 2 cemeterys where our grandparents are buried. Of course we took the hearse to do a photo shoot I've been wanting to do.

While driving to my grandparents plot a guy pulled up on side and asked "are you a real hearse" I replied "no."

This is the plot where my grandparents and great grandparents lie. One day I'll be here too. This is the cemetery that is at the corner Canal & City Park Ave. New Orleans, Louisiana.

    My Hearse Girl

This is the cemetery where Selena's grandmother is buried. It is basically across the street at Metairie Rd and I-10 Service Rd

Nice pictures! How big is the cemetery, I noticed a street sign in a few of the pictures? I think New Orleans has the best cemeteries, at least from what I have seen from photos. I would love to visit there just for the cemeteries. Has you ever been to Marie Laveau's mausoleum?

I know both cemeteries very well!

The first one is Greenwood / Cypress Grove Cemetery....I will also be laid to rest there someday with my grandparents. I have a bunch of family buried in that place some dating back to the very old part of that cemetery in the Cypress Grove part.

The cemetery on Metairie Road....I believe the name is Lake Lawn Metairie Cemetery.

I am so pissed we are not going to be able to make it down there for Mardi Gras this year.

        Home Sick for New Orleans!

        Cool pics!

thanks for the compliments. we definitely wanna go back and do some more pics. the NOLA cemeteries are pretty big. and HellCat is right, Lakelawn/Metairie is right off Metairie Road across I10 from Greenwood.

i'm sorry you won't be able to make it for Mardi Gras, HellCat... but whenever you do come in town, let us know. we'll have to get together.

Most definitely we will get together. I'm going to have to see how this year plays out and we may come down for Halloween. We usually stay in Metairie when we do come down...that is were I grew up.

The funny thing about the Greenwood Cemetery is my mother grew up right off of Canal Blvd. She and her cousins would play hide and seek in that cemetery at night...of course this was during the 1940's and early 1950's. LOL

            Great pics!
