  • My 56 Cadillac Miller Combo

Well, just spent 4 hours today digging this thing out of 20 year old sunkin mud. Some idiot kids busted out the windshield and front passenger glass. Someone cut part of the rear table out too.....why is this the first to go? Most of the important parts are there and the guy had enough sense to take the jump seat out and put away. Has pull up blinds and 1 is missing so if anyone wants to part with one, I'm in the market. Needs a lot of work but should be fun. I was overloaded by about 4000 lbs on my trailblazer but she pulled great at 45mph...lol. Hope you guys like the pics.

    Later.

Bitchin'! Front half of rear floor is usually the first to go because of the additional room that is immediately reclaimed. Haven't any books in front of me currently to check but don't the windshield is commercial glass yet anyway - a plus.

Hope that you left plenty of distance between yourself and traffic, braked gingerly, and only had a couple miles to travel.

Let's hear the back story. How/where did you find it?

      Hey Atti and group,

After picking up Ron Devies 77, I got the bug back and starting searching craigslist of all things. Came across this in the parts section. It was only 40 minutes away and guy said he had it for 25 years. Unfortunately, all outside. Said he had many lookers and a guy coming from out of state so I ran out to look at it and fell in love. One big ass car but super cool. Guy didn't want any money down and said come back in a couple days....yea right, well I got worried so I called him every other day. He was suppose to have it pulled out and cleaned out but that never happened. I knew my truck would pull it but was worried about the length. Had to use a wrecker to pull it from its muddy home, got all but 1 tire pumped up and started snapping lugs off so had to load it flat. Almost burned up my wench loading it. I'll tell you guys what, this is one damn heavy car! I took it nice and slow but once I got over 45 it started fish tailing pretty bad and this is with it being loaded with the weight in mind over the axles. Take offs were decent, stops were a whole other story. Long braking and a lot of praying with some down shifting too. Plus all the A-holes being impatient behind me going down the road but didn't have any problems until I tried to back it in the drive and trailer kept bottoming out in the rear, but finally made it. Not sure what to do about the center section yet, leave it or fix it. Any idea's? no rollers from this area so must have been done a long time ago. So I need to find those too if I go to original. Oh, and the price....$700 flat.

Glad you got it home ok Chris! Bet it was a muddy mess getting that thing pulled out from it's former grave, & it was such a nice day to have to unload all the guy's crap out of the back... rainy & cold. I'll be up this weekend to see her in person. You're a brave man (and a little nuts) for towing that beast home with a Trailblazer... from TOLEDO! Congrats

Ha, you're not the only one shocked by my trailblazer hauling capabilities. I would have to think twice about anything over an hour away thats for sure and especially if its that big! Lol, yea I wasn't too happy with being a junk helper but I wasn't going home empty handed either and I have enough crap so I wasn't going home with all that inside the caddy. I wasn't sweatin any of it, just takes time and patience.

                  Is this your car? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...m=250405495384
If so it still on ebay and it says it's in Cornelius, NC. I knew I saw a 56 somewhere on the web for sale, but couldn't remeber where.

Abnormal, YES that's Chris's coach but obviously a SCAM! He bought it near Toledo from a Craigslist ad last week & it's not for sale, and STILL in Ohio... so this is clearly a stolen image & the ad is a fraud. THANKS for the heads up... I'm emailing Chris right now to tell him & we'll both report it to ebay!

                      Hey Abnorml/hotroddwayne,

Yes, that is the pics of my new coach. Thanks to Dwayne for helping out with this too. As Dwayne mentioned, it is in NW Ohio and not forsale. This asshole had all his listings of 20+ cars, limos and hearses alike removed by eBay after they were alerted by you guys. Many thanks! I called the number in the auction and got some shitty elevator music, no answer machine, no ring. I was ready to duke it out big time. The only thing I can think of is. The guy I bought it off of had a guy contact him from out of state and said he was a hearse broker that had a place in Cali, Missouri and Florida and his name was John. He was sending a check and had a guy coming out to take pictures of this particular coach. Well the guy did come out but the check never arrived. I then came across it on craigslist and guy told me first come, first serve so I bought it. Then these pictures show up of the car sitting in its muddy grave on ebay, WTF. I'm glad you guys are on top of this hearse scam shit and I appreciate all the help everyone has given. Of course if this jack ass was here, I would be stomping his face in right now but I am going to go to my happy place You guys are awesome!

                      Later,
                      chris

The reason it caught my attention is my friend has a 55 and the auction said this was in NC. I'm glad you got this straighten out.
