  • Junkyard Hearses

Looked these over this past friday.

Both are nothing but rotted bones and only good thing left in both is divider glass that looks almost impossible to remove. Both have been in a local junkyard for 30+ years. Thought you guys would like to see them. The older one is a Miller and the gold one is a M/M. They have been gutted for a long time and are almost impossible to get to rear ends.

        On the gold M+M...

I want the build plate (not the VIN plate) from the driver's inner fender. Is that possible? Can you get more pics of the whole car in general? This coach is almost EXACTLY like mine down to the color. I also need to know if it has/had the x-tend table in the rear. I am trying to catalog every 1961 Cadillac hearse out there. Lastly, do you have the phone number to the yard that has it?

Well, it's a rainy, windy day here in Ohio and I made the trip back out to see what I could find. There are no builder plates on either of the two hearses I can't get to the vin plates because doors are stuck half way open and will not move. I pulled off the interior garnish molding that goes down both sides in the casket area, 2 each side on the gold one and it does not have pull out table just flip over panels. This garnish molding wraps around the side to the rear doors. I pulled off the rear sill that goes infront of the rear glass along with the coach plate holders on side doors. I also got the rear heater/light switch that is located on the passenger side by side door. I do not need these pieces but grabbed them incase some one does. I took more pics too, if you want full size, email me and I will send better ones. It was a muddy mess and I bit the big one by the Miller and fell on my ass in the mud....all for the good of the hobby I added pics of the parts if anyone is interested.

one more pic of the inside of the m/m. I would be interested in trading parts for a jump seat for my 77 superior combo or my 56 miller combo. They both only have one and I want 2 I have some interior "Miller" moldings and complete shade tubes out of the one in the pics above. Oh yea, the junkyard is in Milan, Ohio and is called Bob's Auto Wrecking. I don't have phone. Kids took over business and they have no clue what kind of old cars they have. They didn't even know these were back there, they are about a 1/2 mile walk at the back of the yard in woods.
