That's why you need to go with a dark blue color Too bad I couldn't get the bumper off the 61 in the junkyard but that damn thing would be almost impossible. It would take a tow truck to drag one car from behind it, a chain saw to cut a couple arm size trees then a tourch to zip the whole thing and thats not to say some "evil" monkey might come and jump on your face as you're doing all that. Would be an idea though but way too much time and effort for what you would get out of it.

Believe me, if I lived within reach of that one in the junkyard, I'd go through that trouble for the parts...

Yea Chris it's a '61 Superior. When I was looking up & comparing which coachbuilder it was for gb1a it stated that the bumper & taillights are coach specific in 1961 because if it had a standard bumper & lights they'd interfere with the loading door.

What's wrong with dryer hoses dwayne, I had a 72 that had interior wall paper on the bottom half.......of course that was a feable attempt to keep the rust from falling out more. This would be a 1961 Superior I would think, the bumper and tail lights are coach specific I believe.

Good to see you found this forum bg1a... I know in the post on theecto1 you mentioned that it was sold to you as a 1960 (if I remember correctly). I own a pair of 1961's myself, including a Superior Limo style ENDLOADER as opposed to your 3-way. The tail light pods are a 1 year only piece, as 1960 is oval containing 2 round lenses, and 1962 they are more rectangular. Also, the front marker/turn lights are round in 1961 and squared in 1962, but they share the same center sections. If you have need for technical information on the Cadillac portion of the coach, I believe that there is a post on theecto1 that has a link to the shop manual online.

Close! '61 Superior Royale limousine 3-way. Dwayne nailed most of the ID. gb1a, the 'limo' portion of the model refers to windows all the way around and not being a Landaulet. Not to be confused with actually having a limo interior as others have pointed out.

Cool coach. What city in Mexico did you find it it? There are a LOT of old coaches there!

It was in Veracruz. The guy sells a lot of this old cars. He says that in Mexico they are not that worthy since old cars are a daily thing over there.

I bought it from a guy in Mexico. The hearse has been in his garage for several years. Why does it has a Georgia plate..I have no idea, so far it's on it's way here. That's all I know
