Outinstyle, i was just looking at your website. the last sentence on the "our coaches" page could use an edit. Not trying to be a grammar nazi, but when I am looking at a company to do business with, typos kind of turn me off.

I started a service with mine. I intentionally got my Krystal for that reason. Check out http://www.outinstylehearse.com/ The insurance was a challenge but the contract is pretty standard and found it online, just filled in my info. It doesn't carry enough people to need a CDL. We have the PUC in Colorado and their regulations are ridiculous (car can't be older than 10 years, $1500 filing fees, etc.) I offer cars for rent and provide a free driver to get around it.

Mine was out of state so I required 75% up front and the rest before the event. Then he tipped me at the end of the night.

Extremely good points from BIGEVIL, & Zac, what should be fun, could turn out to be a nightmare, unless you cover yourself...

Many clients may be young and disrespectful (ie damage the inside)
Some may be drunk
You need a commercial license
Commercial insurance.
No matter how well you build your coach, if you get in an accident and your passengers get hurt, its your fault because the car was not meant to have (live) people in the back. Any decent lawyer will crush you.

The only legal way around it is to only accept "donations" to be in your car. You are not a limo service, you are not a professional limo driver. Spend $200-$300 for a great attorney to draw up a waiver/disclaimer for your joy riders.

My only advice, I've done quite a few - Get half before the event and half at the beginning of the night. Collecting all at the end, especially from drunk asses is impossible! Also set up rules of conduct (being late by 2 hours costs more, acting like a dick in the back can be cause for ejection without refund, etc) because trust me, while most of these things go off without a hitch, you WILL get the asses who will make you regret not setting up some ground rules!
