Oh that's a nice memory. In the image http://img42.imageshack.us/img42/7612/dsc05285i.jpg that is a radio on the end. I used to own one as a kid.

It has a tape deck on the side and an antenna that goes in the top. Turning the knob changes the direction of the antenna.

Car might be real, but that is most definitely added fluff.
