  • Route 66 hearse, hotrod and custom car cruise

Well, I just tried to go to the CotD MySpace page, but due to the amount of graphics and crap, my computer cannot pull the page up, so I will just have to post the info here.

Chaser, I spoke with Frank yesterday, and because the cruise is going to be starting in Chariots of the Dead territory, he wants to pull CotD in as event co-hosts/co-sponsers. What we are hoping to do is get in contact with the Route 66 Drive in and see about being able to reserve space for us on the 20th, and use the daylight hours for registration and then stay for the movies. Maybe have a cook out there, if we can get them at agree to it. Frank would like to put CotD in charge of the Meet and Greet and cookout. If we cannot get the drive in to work with us, we will have to find another place to hold the meet and greet and cook out, then just go to the drive in when it is time for the movies to start. If anyone has the contact info for the 66 Drive in, let me know...I want to get in touch with them as soon as possible, so that we can make alternative plans as needed.
At any rate, the event will start on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2007 at either the Route 66 Drive in or an alternate location. We'll start with the Meet and Greet, cookout, movies and then move to a local campground for the night. Bright and early the next morning, we'll head out on the actual cruise. Frank will keep us updated as things fall into place, and I will make sure to post here, and on the myspace page, if I can get to a computer that will actually allow the page to come up.
If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them and I will get them to Frank and get answers for you. Frank will be also putting up a web page for the event shortly as well as a yahoogroup, so that interested persons can join in and keep up with all the updates as the happen.

I have one major concern, the whole cook out thing. Are you asking us to actually foot the bill for the food? I ask because the estimated count right now is around 100 people and counting, thats alot of cash that none of us really has. Just kind of curious as to what the exact plan is.

Hey Amber, I am all for the cruise, but um when I need gas for the first time, and depending the exact milage, I will be ending the cruise due to the fact it is going to be a cluster fuck. So their is my vote. As for the Chariots feeding everyone with out money in advance or any help, I am against.
Just a little advance warning, I am not putting BBQ equipment in Bella

Hey Amber, I hope you didn't take offense to what I said. I thought it was not going to offend anyone, but I had some responses to my last post.
I guess I spoke to soon instead of getting details.
I'm thinking it is going to be from MO to TX. I just don't want to fight traffic tring to get into a gas station or tring to catch back up with C.O.T.D.
I also don't think that C.O.T.D. should have to pay for the food out of their pockets. If you can get everyone to pre pay to C.O.T.D. I will even help cook.
Sometime I tend to over react and say stuff that gets misconstrude. I do belive that it would be a fun event, and would love to be a part of it with more details.

        I do apologise.
        Thank you
        Jason
