Sorry Tony, I know my Fords well & know 390FE stands for Ford Edsel... and went straight to the source for confirmation:
"FE" is an acronym for 'Ford-Edsel'[1]. Versions designed for use in trucks and school buses were known as "FT", an acronym for 'Ford-Truck', and differed primarily by having steel (instead of nodular iron) crankshafts, larger crank snouts and different distributors.

Also, here is a write up about some beasts you can build outta an FE motor.

I don't know about that yet, but i think it's a vac/elec mix.
Found the front end issue. Inner and outter tie rods on both sides. But goddamn is it a clean car.

This year the one that had everything running off of the engines vacuum? I had a 62 Lincoln and had a previous owner pull all that out in one yank. This was before the internet so finding a diagram to where everything went was a nightmare. I also remember the wipers being run off of the power steering pump too. You turn them on high and they would push 3' of show off your windshield if needed.

Yeah, There's a few things I need to do to it before I really drive it much, and the arguement with the wife over how much I'm allowed to spend on it in one wave has already entered it's preliminary stages....><

That is one of the nicest cars you've owned in a long time.
Need to see it in person
