  • Patches...I'm depending on you, son.

While Ryan has got his hands full of T-shirts and other business, and with his consent, I will be following up on the idea of getting the back patches done.
If we wanted to get something done other than the current casket/landau bar design, I had the idea of maybe contacting a local artist to come up with something for us (unless it is cost prohibitive, of course). Here are the sites of three local guys, at least two of whom set up at the drive in quite often and I have purchased prints from. I would have no problem approaching them to get a ballpark price on a simple design that would transfer well to a patch. Doesn't even have to be a hearse, unless that's what everybody wants...hence, the voting.

Surf around their sites and then come back and cast a ballot....

    Tyson McAdoo http://www.tysonmcadoo.com/
    Dave Cook http://idrawmonsters.com/
    Eric Pigors http://www.toxictoons.com/

In the meantime I will be checking out a couple vendors and pricing options.

I don't think it would be a bad idea to approach all of them. I'm not sure if we should give them a basic concept - hearse and pinup chick, or let them use their imagination.

If they come up with a design that we like, and that is affordable, great. otherwise, we can fall back on the standard DE casket logo.

If you get Tyson to design that patch and need another buy, I'd proudly put that in my hearse memorabilia pile. Big fan of his style and flair.

Dave Cook is a good dude and hella talented, but I agree with Ryan, approach 'em all!

Pigor is a hell of a nice guy. And he really needs the cash, he had a near fatal heart attack a few months ago. He's doing good now but medical expenses with no insurance is really hurting them.

Damn they all do good work, to hard to decide on this one.
Hit them all up and see what comes of it.

Shit, I'd rather them do some crazy 3 color t-shirt design on mechanic shirts (I had actually hit Tyson up about that a few years ago). If Pigor is in peril and working for cheap, let's help him out.

I suppose once we have the art, we could have it screened onto shirts, or digitized into patches or use it for whatever we like.
Tyson would be my first pick too, but I'm afraid he will be on the higher priced end of the spectrum. I have not met Pigors, but definately dig some of his stuff. Hell, he has a bunch of tattoo flash pages on his site, there may even be something he has already done that we could tweak and use with his permission.

Once we get the art in a vector file format we can use it for anything.

After chatting it up with Dave Cook at the show and rejuvenating both of our interests in getting these patches done, I messed around with some simple photoshop today.
I took one of his existing pinup pieces ( she originally had a guitar and a severed head in her hands ) and manipulated it, added some rockers, and came up with this.
Obviously we can change the font, etc…I’d also like to compensate Dave to come up with an original piece to work with that can belong specifically to the club.
My other thought would be to have “Hearse Club” in the bottom rocker, then put an old Georgia state flag on the left. That way any out of state members can put their own flag on if they want.
Any ideas what could go on the right?

Not bad, I would lose the flag though and move "hearse club" to where Georgia is. Something like that would definitely work though.

Something like this? I like the idea of the old style Ga. flag somewhere in there...a) it defines where the club is located and b) the presence of the Rebel element remains in there.
But whatever, it could be optional to the wearer.
                        Thoughts?

i like the zombie girl. i'm not sure about the old georgia flag. i kinda feel like it has too many negative connotations.
