  • Who owned this Hearse?

I'm looking at a 1984 Caddy here in Phoenix. The guy tells me he bought it from someone here in Mesa. The outside has been painted flat black. The rear has damage to the tail light. If I'm correct, this used to be a white hearse. It was also in the GUINESS WORLD RECORDS for the longest hearse procession. I just want an unbiased history of the car. He says the Check engine light is on (o2 sensor).

    Thanks

Here is the link. I'm pretty sure it was white.

I remember the ad, but I don't remember ever seeing the car at any events or meetings.

The car used to be pink, I know who owned it, he lives in Tempe. I can go through the pictures from the WLHP to see if I can spot it for you, I was there but there were over a 120 hearses there and a couple of them where pink.

I would love to talk to the previous owner. Can you alert him of this message?

              Thanks.

              PS. Hows your hearse doing?

I will send him a message with your Email address.

It's a slow project, the new motor is to tall so now I need to modify the hood. I ordered the new aluminum under drive pulley's & new style sealed water pump today, so hopefully by end of next week, the motor will be ready for install.

That's what it is coming down to, sawsall, jigsaw, plasma cutter or a pick axe, something to make a hole when the time comes.

This guy painted the entire car flat black. It looks like he used a tooth brush to do it. Roof and body but not the jams. Then he put's 13" wires on it. AGH! The check engine light is on, windshield cracked and damage to the right rear bumper. A fixer upper to say the least.

I sent an Email to the previous owner to contact you.
Before he sold it I located a new rear bumper for his car but funds prevented him from buying it plus he said that he wanted a shop to fix the car which increases the cost even more.

I'm meeting with the new owner tomorrow to see what kind of price he wants. Right now it's not looking too good. There always more fish in the sea I guess.

                          Thanks

So after meeting with the current owner, the following items are in need of attention. 1 very bad miss. He clams to have changed the spark plugs out but the miss is still there.2 Check engine light is on and flickers when you rev the engine. I think it is a lose wire somewhere. 3 Air conditioning is non functioning due to him needing more room to change plugs. He opened and removed a high pressure hose for better access. 4. Windshield cracked. Commercial Chassis glass to. 5. Front running lights are shorted out. 6. Front grill falling off. 7 No heater. 8. Interior is horrible, headlined is poorly installed and falling and the roller have been removed. 9. The only thing that takes your mind off of all these previous items is the New paint job. It seriously looks like a rhino spay liner. Cracking here there, everywhere. He's asking $2000.oo. He has not emission it since he got it from the guy in Mesa. He just bought it to have for Halloween. I think all these repairs would end up costing more than the car is worth. What do you think Derick?
