Well that guy hasn't gotten on here to check and hasn't seen the message, or just hasn't accepted my friend request that I had to send (can't send messages to non-friends). So I made a forum post hoping at least one of them might see it.

i was thinking along those lines also. Ed gave me a link to the hotel he recommended. Perhaps if they have a conference room for us to use also.

Personally, I don't think it needs to be a huge event, especially for the first one. I do think it needs to be at least a weekend thing, though, to make it worth the trip. If we could work out someplace to hangout on Fri. evening, a place to have a car show on Saturday and then something to do saturday evening, and head back on Sunday, that might be good. A bonus would be a small block of rooms at a hotel with a discount. Just a quick search in Asheville came up with several paranormal groups with ghost/historical tours. Maybe they might be interested in a combined event.

Anyway, just a few thoughts off the top of my head.

i think it will boil down to whether or not everyone just wants to hang out, or they want some kind of a formal convention. if the latter, i think we'll need more time to plan.

but by all means, everyone try to be on the conference call.

We should have a couple of memebers coming, hopefully at least 5. We already have plans for two weekends. March 22-24 Mad Monster Party Charlotte NC and April 13 weekend Myrtle Beach Zombie walk.
I personnally won't mind doing something in Nov. I know it's a not long time to plan, but something not as big as a Southeastern meet. Maybe a test meet.

Absolutely, Don't change any plans based on us alone. And we will come if able.

Honestly, we were really diggin the November time slot. Anymore, our winters tend to run a bit late with a pretty good chance of snow most of March and sometimes early April. When you factor in the extreme amount of road salt that is used in WV, especially late in the season because they don't want to have to store it, you come up with some pretty hostile conditions for show cars.

Probably yes, but lots of people were complaining about the proximity to the christmas holidays. i think personally i'd rather postpone it a bit so people have more time to request time off work and save up for it.

also, if we're going to do any kind of formal convention, that will take more planning than just a general hang out.

I really think we need to have some sort of regional committee with one or two members from each of the hearse clubs. Then we need to set a regular schedule to talk about it. Voice conference call or something like that.

Here's the deal: Thursday, September 6th, 8:00 PM EDT we will have our first conference call. The conference number is 218-339-4600 and the participant access code is 620859* We will shoot for half an hour, and our main agenda will be to determine which clubs are interested in participating and select a committee of approximately two (2) members per club.

I rather enjoy the idea of looking forward to a new annual show off-peak season, be it Fall or Spring. (So long as it doesn't conflict with any other venues some of us may attend, like Daytona.) Weekend before Thanksgiving would be a nice wind down after haunting, providing one more good reason to stretch the season. Spring meet gives people time for coach adjustments/improvements over winter break while fixing cabin fever. Either way, win/win.

There is still plenty of time to advertise and have it happen in November.

Just an update. So far I have 3 cars that have confirmed that they would be interested in coming, depending on the actual dates and weather.
