  • My gas tank spits at me, I want to fix this

So my 1990 Cadillac has a weird issue. When I pump gas too fast (IE fully squeeze the trigger) it vomits gasoline all over the place. I have no clue as to why it does this and was wondering if anyone might have any ideas on how to fix it. Winter is coming and I don't want to spend any more time than I have to fueling her up.

Your probably vapor locked. Check your fuel tank breather line. It is probably clogged. My 69 and my 80 will usually just make the pump stop pumping as if the tank was full. A trick that works for me is that when you pump gas Put the pump nozzle upside down. See if that works for ya.

really? this is a pretty common problem. i think it has to do with the extreme angle of the filler neck in some coaches. i don't think there's any fixing it. Every one i know with an 80's style coach has this problem to one degree or another.

My 82 never did this shit. Of course that was made by Superior.

Is the 90 any better on gas then the 82? Just wondering if the fuel injection made it any better?
