  • Final paint rendering

The artist I contracted to paint my car has given me the final "concept" picture. The Finish will actaully be rough and textured just like real granite.

Here are the before and after pics. Opinions?

Why don't you just fleckstone it?

I have used fleckstone on other small projects, but it is still just "rattle can"

After seeing the sample boards, the car will look and feel EXACTLY like real slate/granite. It will look aged, weathered, and the cracks will have depth to them.

The most important thing to me is to have people say "I have never seen anything like that". Being predictable is not my style.

Just some updated photos. You can really see the cracked sections in some of the photos. It should be close to done by the end of the weekend.

I can't believe your car fits in the garage.

I can't wait to see it in person.

Hmm, I had my hearse repainted because it had cracks in the paint. Had I only thought of this...

Sorry, I guess one smartass comment deserved another. I actually think it is a pretty cool and unique idea. Can't wait to see pics of the completed project.

                        Thanks for the kind words.
Everyone "expected" me to go with a gloss black paint job with flames. Thats why I'm not.
The texture itself does not do it justice. The sample boards the artist made me before he started are incredible. The coloring and technique makes it look exactly like real slate stone granite.

YOu gonna do a tombstone craving on the hood or back door? Or just leave it as a moving mountain? It's gonna look great.

That idea came up in conversation a couple of times. I will have to see once the color is layed down in the next day or so.
