I am having mine painted dark, dark purple. Something different but not whacky. My friends have dubbed it the Purple People Eater.

I think it would need a slight lift and some tractor looking tires though.

That very thing was said by one of the guys at the feed store and since my 79 is already missing a rear qtr panel It wouldn't be that hard to put some on it.. Definitely needs a weight bracket out front... LOL I shouldn't laugh I think this might cost me some money... Damn my active imagination...

If you do build that John Deere hearse, don't forget the rifle rack for the rear window, or chrome shilouettes of gals on the mudflaps wearing only mourning veils.

I happen to be in the feed store the other day and some of the ol boys havin coffee were give were givin' me a ration of shit about my coaches...I told them I had this idea about a custom coach... John Deere Hearse... you could have heard a pin drop they look at each other and one piped up and said "You build it and when the time comes I want you to do the haulin" I sat down and these guys were just full of ideas of how to go about it and what to use and offering original JD parts in places... Damn kinda got me thinking alot harder about now..LOL

Black would have and will be my choice for my '69. Actually I'm leaning towards a Satin as opposed to flat or glossy.

And the 69 and 70 are two of the most sought after classics.

The two best colors I have seen on that year is BLACK and Black Cherry. A real deep blackish purple. I don't think you can go srong with those two colors. Camo is definately dis-tasteful. Treat the car with the class it deserves. And the 69 and 70 are two of the most sought after classics. If it were me I would go with the Black Cherry Metallic.

Hey, that would actually be a pretty unique design. John Deere Green, with John Deere Yellow wheels and mouldings (or stripes in place of the mouldings!
