  • Anyone made a car trailer form an RV?

I have a chance to pick up a 34-foot Rolls travel trailer, possibly vandalized beyond usefulness as such, and bring it home. Has anyone tried to strip one of them down to the frame and make a car or aircraft carrier out of it?

    thanks

I don't believe the frame would be strong enough once you stripped it down.. It would flex way to much.. by the time you put the work of build it you could have started from scratch and built one the way you want it.. I think my trailer is pictured in my album Destiny.. built from scratch in 1999. It has 7,000 lbs torsion axles with brakes, it cost about 1200 bucks for everything. I bought the axles new=1,000 bucks, the metal was new but purchased at scrap price about 5 cents lbs= 100 bucks. 2 5/16's ball hitch=65 bucks... the rest is time and rods....

I wanted to rent a portable-parking-lot trailer and move all of the cars at once with the semi, but Tony wants to tow 'em up and caravan...who's got the brain in there? A hearse, a 5500# Chrysler, a Volvo 240, an '04 Marquis, a U-Haul truck, a 4000# boat, and an airplane. I'll leave as exercise how many damned trips that would make, but it seems like too many to me.
