  • 1961 Cadillac S&S Victoria

    Hey folks,
Don't know if anyone remembers my posts about getting my first hearse- a '61 Caddy and the questions I had about finding parts for it, but I think I want to sell it.

I decided I didn't want to do all that work to it. It's a big, big project and I just want to get a hearse that I can drive and enjoy.

It needs just about everything so it's not for the timid. If you're not afraid of body work, engine work and interior work then it might be a good project for you. Or it might make a good parts car.

I am hoping to just get the money out of it that I put into buying it and towing it to my house. (1,300) Or as close to that as I can get.
I would also trade it for a good running cadillac hearse from '76 back.

Here are more pictures if I did it right.
I do have both landaus, but not the ends.
I would like to sell the whole hearse instead of dealing with the hassle of parting it out.

        Thanks

I live in New Oxford which is between York and Gettysburg.
I bought the car from someone in New Jersey, that one picture with the trailer was one the previous owner took.

From the pictures it looks as though you've started a lot of the work. Do you have all of the parts that have been removed (interior trim, engine ancillaries)?

I haven't done anything to it yet. I bought it without looking at it and when I got it home realized it was a much larger project than I am prepared to tackle.
There is no interior to speak of except the seat.
As far as the engine and accessories- The valve covers are missing, the carb is missing, the generator is missing, one exhaust manifold is missing. Probably more things but that's all I can think of right now. I got it to run but one cylinder has low compression. I didn't pull the head to see what was up. It could have been the head gasket or burned valve or it could be something very serious.

I'd like to come take a look at the hearse sometime. I live in Baltimore, so it is an easy enough trip. Let me know how to contact you so we can set up a time. Thanks.
