X2...1 hard to see bolt holding you up Ryan ( Lip of bracket conceals head of bolt ). Have to feel around with a open end wrench to get it, wanted to body slam first one I ever done as well.

Ryan, check between your air pump and alternator. There is a bolt there that holds the smog pump at the top that holds both the pump and alternator if not mistaken. This is if my memory serves me correct on your year model of coach.

ok, i just had a thought. possibly there is a locking bolt on the sliding bracket that i have to loosen before the pump will slide on the bracket. the others have this. i'll check for it tomorrow.

This air pump belt is kicking my ass

So! i'm trying to change out all the belts on the hearse before asheville. I got the alternator and power steering belts off without too much trouble, but the air pump is being a royal pain.

it has one mounting bolt and one sliding bracket that allows one to adjust tension on the pump by means of a bolt. At this point, i removed the mounting bolt completely, as well as the air hose. i can visually verify from underneath the vehicle that the adjusting bolt is backed out enough that it's not making contact.

So even though the pump should not even be physically connected to the car at this point, i can't get it to pivot or slide so as to remove the belt. i can wiggle it back and forth a bit, but that's not too helpful.

Anyone have any helpful hints? i don't have a lot of time to mess around with this. if i can't wrap this up in the next day or two, i'm going to have to have it towed to the shop.
Working...
