today i fixed lighting in the casket compartment. there were some wiring issues back there anyway, and i fixed my switch so i can have the lights on independent of whether or not the back door is open.
also fixed purple wigwags in the rear.

I have been getting the 69 ready as well,
Changed the oil
checked rear end lube
greased all fittings
checked brakes, replaced 1 wheel cylinder and flushed the brake fluid
checked all tire pressures
checked all fluids
checked belts for wear and tightness
cleaned carburetor and checked air filter
filled tank adding Seafoam fuel treatment
bought an extra points and condenser set just in case
replaced missing passenger side wiper arm
put decent tool kit in storage area with random extra small parts, hose clamps, plug wires, spark plugs, electrical connectors, and other stuff
I should be set for this trip as long as the transmission holds. It has been working fine but you never know. It is the original 1969 never been rebuilt trans.

it was a little tricky. i had to depress the coil spring and then pry it off, but i got them changed.
Now i just need to check the refrigerant level in the AC system. That, at least, i can handle.

i found a section in the shop manual about how to do it. apparently you insert a slotted screwdriver into a recess and they will pop off. not very obvious from just looking at the wipers.

Dude!! Come on! LOL It's not that hard? If so, go to your local parts store and some pimple faced kid can hook you up in a jiffy.Originally posted by ryan_ricks View Postnow i just need to figure out how to change out the windshield wipers >.<

I got everything put back together and tensioned up to my best guesstimation. i used a prybar to tension up the vacuum pump and then tightened the bolts. it worked out alright.
now i just need to figure out how to change out the windshield wipers >.<

ok, so: all the belts are on at this point, and everything is tightened up, except the belt from the power steering pump to the vacuum pump. There's no tensioner bracket on the vacuum pump, so i'm not exactly sure how to go about tightening it back up. Currently looking through the book for helpful hints
edit: the book doesn't seem to have any helpful hints
