Are you concerned that the new cuts weakened the snout of the converter?

Not terribly honestly. The steel was less hard than expected when I cut it, it filed rather nicely and honestly the shaft itself only turns the pump in the transmission.

I'm going to jack the car up this weekend and see what the fuck the noise is that is coming out from under the car. I may be making a trip to get another transmission soon.
