  • Brakes hard as a rock...

That pretty much says it all. Ambers 67 Bonnevile is just rock solid when you hit the brake pedal, any clue what might cause that? I was thinking brake booster myself...

check the vacuum line going to the booster making sure it's
not clogged or cracked, also check the port where the hose
    goes for blockage.

If your master cylinder is leaking into your booster, it will cause the same effect, then you need to replace both the master cylinder & booster.

That's easy enough to check for. Don't open the system, just remove the mounting bolts for the massah cylinder, slide it back a little and look in with a flashlight, looking for leaks. Chances are if it's leaked in there, it has ruined your booster.

A hissing sound when you press and release the brake pedal is a clue to booster failure.

Checking for proper vacuum and condition of the hose is a good idea too, or the booster could be shot. You can probably still get a rebuilt one. I got one for my old 78 for around $80, scrapped the car, and threw it in the trash because no one wanted it.
