So, I've been driving it to work now and it runs fairly well. I've assessed that it will need a tune up. I called the one engine shop I used years ago that rebuilt my 53. These guys are really awesome. I feel that the carb needs to be looked over and redone. Other than that, spark plugs, cap and rotator for the distributor and I'm trying to locate the fuel filter.
Any other things I should look over? The air filter looks at about half it's life and all the fluids were topped off. I'll be checking the oil in about a week to see how it looks. Tires are in good shape. I have also been looking online for any sites that show good upgrades to do to this engine. Right now, the pick up is good. I'm not going to take off like a rocket, but it does get to speed.
The passenger side mirror has a loose cable so it doesn't adjust and the antenna is electrical and is stuck in the up position. That's not too big a deal since I want to install a new radio. I'm thinking of possibly going with a system that will allow me to hook up a rear view camera. I've got one company we work with that charges about $699 to install one with a monitor.
I'm also going to try to locate a 1980 Caddy fleetwood manual if there is one out there.
