  • fuel leak

it appears that i have a fuel leak on ellie-mae. i believe that some one has put an auxillary fuel tank under the stock one. any body got an 80's model caddy out their, if so how is your fuel tank mounted on your ride. mine is hung w/ straps below the rail w/ a rubber (raditor) hose coming from another tank into this tank. i just put 30.00 bucks of fuel in her and it's blowing back on the duel exhaust. now i gotta syphon out the fuel and replace that rubber hose. is there any body that makes a fuel line that diameter that will withstand rot from gasoline?

I think they make generic rubber fuel filler hose at any napa etc. I am not sure how that would suddenly make you car run very rich and blow black smoke though.

yep fuel is blowing back on the exhaust. i was at auto zone saturday and the guy said the only hose he had that size would be a raditor hose. i was looking for something like a gas line only that size .

I always use Carquest stuff................the guys here at the local store are life savers.............they can think without the computer and figure out parts that the 'puter doesn't say exist. We had to gather odd parts to make a carrier bearing for my '68 Poncho Superior. I hate trying to get stuff from auto-zone and o'reillys, 'specially on coaches and hot rods.

got it fixed today finally, gainesville rubber & gasket - 2" tank filler hose , $ 8.36 a foot, beats $ 20.00 a foot at napa. the 2" steel t bolt clamps were 5.50 a pc so it's good ta go, i just don't go no where!!!!!!

I have a fuel leak as well. I have not felt well enough to get up under her to see exactly where it is coming from. But At least I know where to start looking.
