  • Horn goes off when it's too cold

So, I've been looking into this interesting phenomenon. When the temp goes down, my horn will go off. Now, my hearse doesn't have an airbag or an alarm. I'm seeing to possible culprits:

    1) the plastic in the steering wheel shrinking and warping in the cold allowing the horn switch to contact

    2) A shorted wire or an alarm system malfunction

I'm just seeing if anyone else here has had a similar problem. For now, I'm just removing the fuse for the horn. This is also the same fuse that connects with my power door locks. Anywho - just seeing if anyone has dealt with this or has any suggestions.

I know I couldn't have helped, without any make and model information. This is really a general message...you should always include this info, year and model, any optional equipment, etc.

That's a good point - I'm going to add the info to the how post.
