So the 78 has been in storage for the past year or so and every couple months i go and fire him up and drive him around the lot a couple times just to keep things flowing.
So this past weekend I did the same thing, and as it was sitting there idling, I noticed gas dripping in the rear. It looks as if its actually leaking on the top of the tank and running off the side, which leads me to believe it might be the fuel return line running back from the carb or filter or wherever it tees off from?
Question 1 - has anybody ever pulled the tank off a 77 - 79 caddy and can you confirm this is where ther return line enters the tank?
Question 2 - what would cause this clog to happen in the first place on a car that is basically sitting. Shouldn't the fuel filter catch any junk BEFORE it gets sent back through the return line?
