  • What color is a 63-64 390-427's Manifold.

I want to powder coat mine the proper color, is it silver?

Assuming you are writing about the intake and not exhaust, I believe the color should match the block.

If he was talking exhaust I'd say 'rust'

My '64 has a 429 in it and the manifold was the same as the block...dark blue. I powder coated the waterpump intake and the valve covers in a black and they really look sharp. Also did the 'Cadillac' on the covers in a silver so that they popped.

Ok, thanks everybody. Now a know a great powder coater I would want to use...

But can anybody suggest a brand or paint code besides Cadillac engine dark blue? Or maybe a shop that does this regularly?

Actually this looks close if I remember.

I snagged a nice one from the New Ringold PA junkyard. They had the 64 limo still, a 64 fleetwood, and a 63 sedan. I took the mani from the sedan because it was in the nicest shape and still greasy. So the goofy little hard line that comes out of it was still in perfect shape.

Pics to come, I have a pre arrangement in 20 minutes.

Unless of course, you're a PCS member.

Now for carbs, Edlebrock 600 cfm or 750 cfm?
                        600 Listed for 61-64 Series 75:

                        750 CFM listed for 64 Series 75:

I wanna say 750 cfm, but will that be pointless since I don't have the extra 39cid that the 64 429 offers? The 63 also has manual choke, so I don't know what would be involved in electric choke.

Unless you are going for something other than stock induction, 1.5 X CID is all you need for carburetion...

Thank you, I will stick with the cheaper 600cfm.

Also, that plastic riser with the vacuum port on it, is that some sort of standard part, or optional for diff climates or emissions?
