Door panels

Any one know where to get the cardboard stuff for making door panels - can I use a thin wood... like paneling or leuan for the backing? Better yet (to keep the original) do you think I can I shore up the panels I have... put a more solid backing on them to get rid of old age wrinkles & sagging.

Would a thin coat of fiberglass resin shore it up?

upholstry shop. Use the thin tap paper to make the door panel water resistant, otherwise the cardboard will wrinkle up

I remade mine out of 3/16 wood panel. I had thought about a large sheet of aluminum and some contact cement.
