  • 6v to 12v

So, I'm working on reinstalling my lights for the '53. I've been trying to find online any how to's on converting the headlights/tailights/turnsignals from 6v to 12v. I know there are lights sold out there, but the tailights are unique in that they have a cross shape cast in to the red resin covers.

I've got the wiring harness in there and ready to hook things up... I'm just wondering if anyone has found 12v reproduction lights that can work for my '53. Or...is there a way to wire up a 12v bulb and hook it up to the harness.

    I'm just exploring options.

I am going to have the same issues when I start on the 49. I want it to be a 12 volt system but was thinking of putting resistors in line on the items I want to keep original.
I am no electrical expert but if you went to Radio shack or some similar place they could probably hook you up with what you need.

Check painless wiring. I used them when i did my 56 f100. Guys there are great to work with and in some application they can get you everything needed to convert it over. http://www.painlesswiring.com/
