I re-did the manifolds on the wifes 78. They were 3/8 although i drilled mine thru so that i could get anti-seize on the first of the threads. this way they back right out. I did the same with my old 56 ford. After 10years little pressure they come right out.
If you drill them out yourself there is a somewhat easy way to do it. grind the broken bolt so its flat, Harbor freight(I Know Quality) has a self centering punch, it looks like a top hat with a rod in the center. use that and drill smaller hole thru center and you should be able to throw a little heat to em and Ta Da. I put mine in a vise and drilled them with the press. Chase the thread with a roll tap carbide if available in case you break it u can shatter it out of there.
