  • Rear automatic windows

I've recently been pondering the possibility of accessing the motors on my rear doors so those windows can roll down if need be. I know there should be motors there since I can see wiring going into it and I figure..hey the manufacturer most likely would have put em in during assembly.

So...has anyone done this? I only have the plate that operates the two front windows. I'm thinking if I found a driver's side piece that had all four windows...maybe give it a try? Don't know if it's worth it since those motors back there were never used in 30 years.

I was also thinking if it were possible - would it make it easier to put those windows down when it comes to the time to repaint the 80.

Have you confirmed that there are motors in there? Doesn't seem likely they would use parts that cost extra money and not have them operational. I pulled a rear panel on my 73 to investigate and there are tracks it could slide in, but connecting a regulator to the window is gonna take some engineering. I'll be happy just to get the fronts electric. Roll down windows are a drag.

Haven't pulled the panels off to confirm, only saw that the wiring went into the area. So, it's just a guess at this point. I would agree though - the manufacturer may not put in the motors on a vehicle going to a coach factory for a hearse.
