i hope they wash the poor thing off. i think she wouldn't look as bad if they just took a good power washer to her. i saw were they rubed the mud from the front bumper and got to some shiny chrome. i hope whoever wins here makes sure she gets put back together like she was when she went in there. keeping here covered in mud would be a shame!

I am glad it came out as it is. Heres why.
A) Who ever wins the car will obviously not drive the car or modify it, preserving its history.
B)If it was pristine it would just be another pretty 57 and will most likely fall into the wrong hands and be driven.
C)Who ever wins the car will obviously not want the car and put it up for sale (Barret Jackson in 3 months or Ebay)
D) Only a serious collector interested in preserving the car will buy it.
E) The way the car is it WILL end up in a museum for all to see.
F) There is no danger of the car being destoyed as it is just a display piece now.
G) It is beyond repair so the originality of the car will not be tampered with.
H) It adds a tragic end to the whole story so it makes the car more interesting.
I) If in new condition, it would get a passing glance from most people but the car as is will have onlookers staring for a while looking at the deterioration.
J)No one will forget this exibit where ever it ends up.
Everybody says, oh I wish it came out perfect...but in reality didn't a small part of you want to see them pull up a hunk of shit. I did. Its that same evil voice in your head that see's a car about to cut in front of you on the freeway and you think about, even consider snagging that guys rear bumper and putting the asshole into the wall for no reason. Its the dark side in everybody and it never wins....this time it did. They pulled up a hunk of shit and I can still sleep at night knowing a lot of people are really upset this car was not perfect.

I am/was totally 2 minds on the subject.
One part of me wanted to see it come out of the ground as it went in and just be incredible. Regardless of what happened to it afterwards, it would be the lowest mileage, virtually perfect, unrestored '57 Belvedere on the planet.
The other side wanted it to come out actually worse than the Savoy so the world who had it's hopes piled on that car would feel the way I felt when I turned the corner at that dudes house and saw that heap of rusted shit I hauled back to Georgia.
On a side note - I'm glad there is a way to NOT see your sig in the control panel.
