Only a few can answer the "why me" question. Usually they end up in a rubber room, answering their own questions like "why am I here", "why can't I copy text out of this window", "why am I allergic to Latex", and "why did I take my homosexual fantasies so seriously when I was growing up." They are always successful at answering their own questions, but there is too much in the universe to ponder. These are savants, locked in their own minds. You can reach them only with a swift kick to the genitals, which distracts them too much to answer your question. It's a catch-22.

I can only tell you a creation myth which predates Gilgamesh, the Pentatuech, and perhaps even the stone age, although some argue that it came from a cave painting.

It goes back to a great Garden, where the quail hunting was pretty good. God was thinking one day, when he broke open his shotgun to reload, when he realized that two shots could get off if he had a second barrel. So he took a rib from Adam's ribbed barrel and created that which gave all of man a choice of barrels...but some people have a recessive gene which predates that "second barrel", and has hidden itself from the mapping of the human genome. Then there are lesbians who can do two things at once. (Lock your mind in that loop for a while)

I realize that this is not much more than a clue to get you started, but you will never get the answer to your question anyway, so, maybe it would be best just to accept your fate. Relate this story to your partner and remind him that God always had to "reach around" to pull that trigger before his gun went off.
