While hanging at Nightmare Manor this past Halloween, Dressed as a Grave Digger (of course), I'd get asked 5 times a night "Is it a real Hearse?".

    had 2 fav. answers......

    1. - mostly for kids -
    (very nice, friendly, and casual)
    "yep, it's a REAL Hearse....."

    (a little more intense)
    "it's a REAL Casket...."

(slaming my shovel hard on the pavement with a 'CLANG" - giving a death stare)
    "and it's a REAL SHOVEL!!!!!"

Man, they got to running - LOL

    2. - For adults, specially the ones that can't wrap their minds around owning a hearse -
(Being my Hearse is newer ('86) and looks still in service)

"Ya, it's real.... actually it's only 2 years out of service....................
........You can even still smell the bodies - go ahead, smell it, SMELL IT......"

Got every reaction from "EEEEEWWWWW" to people almost blowing chunks at just the thought.

Ya, they're stupid people (here's you're sign), but face it, without them.....
....Hearse ownership would not be as much fun !!!!!

    AGREE???

The most popular question was "Doesn't it creep you out driving it?"
As soon as I explain that no one ever died in the car, but people die in ambulances all the time, they get it.

Tried that before, explaining how it is an HONOR car and no one 'died' in it, but the real stupid people still don't get it

So now I just tell em...

"Not any worse than having kids in the back seat of a regular car ... but it is much quieter"

When I've told them that they'll say "Well, how do you know for sure...?"

You can put "Is it real?" in the middle of the bingo card. I was going through emissions testing. I told him, "No, you're imagining it."

If you want to hear some really stupid ones, get a CB and cruise the freeway. I almost feel guilty about this one...I told a trucker that I had my grandmother in the back. He said, "Oh, I'm sorry." I said that I didn't want to do this, but I promised my mother that I would, and she's been dead for two years now.

He didn't think that was a damned bit funny.

I get alot of "Got a dead body back there?" mostly in drivethroughs, I tell them yes thats why I'm going through the drivethrough hoping maybe they'll hurry up with my order, no luck so far though.

I can't get over how many people say HURST

I think so far the most annoying question I get is "why did you get that?" At first I would give a somewhat rational explanation that I could easily tell the listener wasn't interested in, why do people ask questions if they don't intend to listen to the answer? I now just simply answer because I can.

When I was test driving Lily with Richard (60 Buick), we had to stop at a gas station real quick when I first had someone ask "where's the dead body?". She wasn't even mine yet and I had someone ask me that! My response to the guy's question? I told him that the dead body was in the convieneint store! Yes Richard, I was calling you a dead body!

The best I have had so far, even without the car in running condition was when I picked her up in Bullhead City, AZ, I was gassing up the tow vehicle, with the hearse on a trailer, the guy behind me in line at the register asked, "Why you hauling around that old hearse?" The lady working at the store replied without missing a beat "It's better than an old hearse hauling you around isn't it?"!!!

Yup, the night I met Tulsa Guy, one of my friends elbowed me and said "He's got a hurst!" I had a mental picture of a hot little black & grey Oldsmobile from the 80's, but hey, I liked the Hearse too, 'cause it was way BIGGER than a Hurst Olds.

My favorite silly question was from the teenage girl workin' the checkout at Wal-Mart who asked me about buyin' all those Matchbox cars even though I didn't have any kids with me -- I told her about the Hearse, and her response was a shocked expression with "You know that's had dead people in it, right?"

"Well yeah... I have an Ambulance too, and some people actually lost the fight and died in the back of it."

What? A hearse with dead people in it? Prepostrous.
That is a pretty stupid question.

Where were you in Bullhead City? There used to be nothing there but an airport where you could land and take the ferry right over across to Laughlin. Gawd, it was nice. I think Wal-mart bought the whole town now...you have to go up to the terminal and call a van to go to the hotel that you claim you're staying at.

This is an example of the world going to shit.

Had a good one yesterday - While Christmas shopping, I stopped at the drive-up at Tim Hortons for some lunch. The guy went nuts over my car...

                                (going threw drive-up)

Kid - "Wow, that's a great looking Hearse, Do you ever carry any dead bodies?"

Me - "Only when my order get's screwed up"

Wanna talk about looks - LMAO
