I may just use my personal account to make this happen... I'll figure all of that out after I get confirmation from my machinist. Keep your fingers crossed!

Ok, Pat (The machinist) is making a test batch as soon as he gets back from family vacation. He plans on being home late this week, so look for another update next week. We're going to run 40 of each model stud, early and late. Once that's done we can verify fit and begin mass production. Keep an eye here for further updates...

Short version: I'll have a small batch of studs next week.

Are those test batches going to be free?? Probably not, but its worth the poke.

Well, No, but I'm only charging what my machinist charges me. I can probably send one freebee out of my own pocket. I'm going to replace the LH thread studs on my '58 with the prototypes, I just need a guinea pig for the late model ones (65? to 76)...

                    Cheers!

I know this is about to late, but I forgot I had this picture. Someone post this when I broke the studs in my 73.

So, I found out yesterday why I haven't been able to contact Mr. Fancy Pants Machinist... he tried to remove his arm with a lathe! OUCH! The story I heard goes that his sleeve got caught and it puled his arm in and almost severed it. They were able to save it, but he'll always have nerve damage. waiting to see what's going to happen. I have two other machinists to fall back on, but this guy was the cheapest....

Best to use a shop that follows safety standards anyways. I feel for the machinist, but its his own damn fault.

That's not a Darwin award. Although it is very stupid, to qualify he either has to kill himself or remove his ability to reproduce completely.
