  • WHAT KIND OF HEARSE DO I HAVE?....HELP

I just bought a 1990 Cadillac Brougham and I have no clue on the Coach company.
I have two friends looking at my pictures saying two totally different things of what
Coach Company they think it is... I would love as much input on this as possible because
I have no tags anywhere on the car to pin point what it could be and I already called Cadillac
    and they have no idea
I also have more pictures if you need something else... So far im hearing M&M and Breece

Looks like an Eagle to me.. Normal front windshield, not commercial glass. Not sure if eagle is its own co. or not tho.

Sure looks a lot like the '90 MM brochure on ebay right now:

Except the landau bar's on the brochure have an extra half circle on the top & bottom at the midpoint.

There's also a 90 SS brochure on right now:

Landau bars are more different, also the area where those side "lamps" are is smoother on the M&M, where as the SS looks like that panel has a boarder to the design & an emblem below the lamp. Pics in the OP have neither design features.

Probably not an Eagle, side lights are all wrong (one lens shaped kind of like a coffin rather than three rectangle ones and usually just one chrome bar).

I hadn't even clued in on the side lamps. I forgot that other coach makers used those and that they weren't exclusive S&S Masterpiece territory. I don't think Accubuilt owned S&S and M-M at the same time back then though.

I thought GM dissolved the Fisher division in '84 & restructured their body manufacturing under generic GM factory names? They then kept using the logo on door-sills threw the 90s as a marketing ploy to appeal to older consumers. The last fisher plant was in Elyria OH and ceased all activity by 1988.

Would have to remember to check but I am pretty sure my car has the "body by fisher" logo on the door sills, but they did not do the hearse conversion.

IIRC all GM bodies by the 80s were made by Fisher, except for Corvettes, and Fleetwoods. So if the coachbuilder took delivery of a cadiliac [that wasn't a fleetwood] & then cut off the roof & everything behind the rear doors to make a hearse, it would still retain the fisher logos on the door sills? Kind of like how all car radios in GM were made by "Delco" [a division in the company that only made electronics].
