  • Hey yall..is there anyone around NC?

I been messing around and finally got around to cleaning out the haunted storage building that is formally my unnamed hearse. I decided to start driving it again, and looking for folks to meet up with.
I was on the verge of selling it. it scared me last time I tried to take her for a ride. the first and last time I drove the damn thing, I think the dimmer switch shorted out, but not sure. something caused the battery suddenly go dead at a stop light in front of a town cop and I had to nurse it to a pizza hut's exit side of their driveway followed by the town cop with light and whistles blowing, and a 2000 ford ranger driven by an old drunk guy and his drunk wife. when the cop tried to back his car up to block me in the parking spot the drunks tried to beat him there and the cop run over their truck....then they tried to start a fight with the cop. about 3 minutes later, I was surrounded by about 50 cops and and three lawyers.. the drunks called their son the lawyer, and he dragged along his drama queen 14yro daughter who was looking attention and nearly got arrested by the cops supervisor. soo needless to say I parked the bastered and a year later I let Mom's boyfriend drive it. well I ended up trying to sell it and a guy in an alligator custom work shirt and smelled like he and took a bath in aqua velva , showed up and started telling me it was too much work for anyone wanting to something to fix up....I knew the minute I saw him that he was not a hearse type, and would not be getting it.
Well I got her fired up, which was not very hard, but I ran out of gas sitting there playing around. I been looking an older hearse but there are not any that I can afford..come to think of it there are not many listed on the web for sale at all! so it looks like I'll just keep it and drive it while repair rust out spots and terrorize the locals.
I would like to find some other folks to meet up with that have an interest hearses.

I'm in a hearse club Reaper's Rides. We have members in North and South Carolina. The closest members to you live in Hillsborough NC. We have some in and around Charlotte, and me and another member live in South Carolina.

There is also Carolina Coffin Cruisers, although i'm not sure where the bulk of their membership lives. Either way, you need to come to our Asheville meet in May: https://www.facebook.com/events/480862378668313

Thanks, I met someone from the Coffin Cruisers a while back. Just couldn't remember where they were from. I'll try to make it to Ashville, but my hearse has a lloonngg way to go before it is safe to drive. I might have to take the bike. lol I would like to go just to see some of the folks I met back in the mid 90's. just wondering, is the Asheville meet like hearsecon for the east coast?
            Thanks

Hey, Otto, you are like 30 minutes away from me... I'm buying a some property just out side of Stantonburg (it's a Fremont address, 7142 Jay Cross rd Fremont), and I have been trying to get everything ready so I can move my trailer there.
I'll try to get the brakes bleed and try to have my hearse driving again in a couple of weeks.

HAHAHAHAHA No you don't want to see it...lol the site open rusty wounds on it, is some scary mess. most car folks wear a radiation suit just to look at the pictures. lol. I figure it is paid for and not a collectible, so I'll hit it with POR15 and fiberglass and maybe even JB wield to get it looking better. it was a rat rod project when I got it and I sold it. that guy left it to rot and was planning on selling it for scrap so I had to save it from the junk yard. I tried to sell it a few days ago but I didn't get any bites till I got it running again and everyone that called wanted to cut the back off. so I decided to keep this one and drive it. maybe I have a mental problem but I just can not see it getting destroyed.

I don't think you ever saw the 59 Parkrow I used to own. That car was a real rustbucket when I drove it in SoCal. I don't have a problem with a rusty hearse, just one I can't seem to get fixed mechanically.

I don't mind the motor work part but the electric stuff always gets me.
I'll have the tags on it again next month and I'll see what yall got going on as soon as I can get everything safe and road ready. just remember it is a disaster...eeerr work in progress.. lol.

ahhh that explains a lot...the guy that told me he was in the Coffin cruisers was from there. I wish I had gotten his name. He never emailed me back and I ended up parking the hearse.
                            Thanks.
