    That name...Stephen Everhart..sounds very familiar.
I looked pretty much every where, even posted a want ad on Craigs list, and went to a few funeral homes and told to leave at more then a couple. I made a lot of phone calls to out of state places that did advertise in a haunted house supplies catalog.
Batesville has a ware house in Goldsboro NC., but they don't even come out side the building and lock the door to office and when I drove around the side to the loading dock the truck drivers would go in to the bay and shut the doors before you could even say "hi".
Does Stephen Everhart run a funeral home in Lexington NC?

I don't have anything else to do so I'm fine with building one. I did another search today and still not happy with the results. maybe if I do a home build, someone might like me to build one for them. lol. might could even put together some plans for other folks that might be in the same boat I am.

Stephen isn't currently at home and for whatever reason isn't able to log in here with his cell. Wanted to relay having 2 available at moment: New metal for $350 and a new Oak Batesville for $600. He'll respond here directly soon enough.

Consider that whatever you spend (not even including time) making one is money lost you won't get back. Buy a real piece and if times get tough you'll get your money back out.

I hear what your saying Atti. that sounds like a good deal. I kinda like the steel one. I got so much spar time here lately and I just wanted to build one. My younger brother works for a construction company that builds houses and does contract work for the hospitable (and other places I guess..lol) and they have a lot of left overs and good stuff they saved. so I got a hook up on most of the material. I pretty much rebuilt my camper from their left overs and salvage pile. lol

I can not afford the $1K + of a new one
You need to really look around for them, I used to have a real one that was a scratch and dent one I paid $100 for. It was new, just scratched up and a slight dent.

I would like to build a wooden toe pincher style though to mount speakers in, and a storage space.

i think you would be fine at hearsecon or the SERM coming up in May. the only thing we ask for the main car show is that it stays in your car and isn't decorated with blood and gore. but other than that, caskets are welcome.

I have a friend that has bought at least three casket, recently, all metal. I know he didn't pay even $500 for any of his. He lives in NC. If you want a casket let me know. If you don't mind driving, I can get you one for a decent price. My friend has a wooden one on craigslist right now. http://charlotte.craigslist.org/for/4373848987.html

When directly asked reason for building, Bill stated not being able to afford $1k+ for a real casket.

Yet when cheaper real casket leads are provided, Bill changes tune to having wood and time.

Indecisiveness is where I draw line and cease trying to help someone out. Most of us have better things to do than assist someone who doesn't know what they want. Pass.

Batesville does not sale to the public, only licensed funeral homes operated by licensed funeral directors.

I got a sore throat sat. and been high on nightquil (SP?).
Atti- I never changed my tune. I started out wanting to build one because I could not find one, under $600. I built a small corner out of scraps and I liked it. so I started getting scraps then someone pointed me to a guy here who is out of town. I did a the best I know how on searching for one. if there is a secret website or a secret hand shake then please share it....
I just seen the post from Abnorml like three minutes ago. even if I end up getting a real factory casket I still want to try and build one just for shit and giggles.
Thanks for telling me you know a guy bought that bought one for under $600 in N.C.

Thanks, Ryan, I promise it will not be gory or bloody and atleast PG rated.
