I can give you some advice as i've followed the Pro Mods & Pro Extreme since getting some tickets to see the ADRL "world's fastest doorslammers" competition @ Norwalk Dragstrip last summer. I don't know what circut you plan to run but you really need to look at the rules before you worry about a name. ADRL, NHRA, & IHRA have VERY strict rules for pro mods:
1. Typically a maximum weight of 2750 pounds
2. ALL bodies MUST be approved before building can begin
3. Maximum wheelbase is 115"
4. CHASSIS: SFI 25.1 E or 25.2 certification required
It goes on & on & on...
Not trying to be a prick or burst your bubble... but the Pro Mods are insane fast & only allowed to run the 1/8th mile because they're so squirrely. Pro Extreme cars turn times in the hight 3's - low 4's. Also you said you want to keep your Pontiac a 4 door & not modify it's outward appearance (& i'm assuming length) so you're gonna be moving the rear tires WAY foreward to conform to a 115" wheelbase. My 1980 coach measures 146" wheelbase & the 1967 coach measures 158".
I've talked with Jason at length about his '59 Caddy hearse-bodied hearse "Golgotha"... it's a 2/3 scale fiberglass replica body & a 511 cu. in. Hemi that runs on alcohol. He owns & operates Wizard Racing... builds race cars made-to-order. Here's a couple pix of GOLGOTHA!

I am building this Hearse for exibition and match racing, so it will be 25.2 cert built with a full tube Chromoly chassis
We will run a 1700 + hp 509ci blown and injected BBC, the motor out of our current race car
Thanks!
Ok cool that makes perfect sense now, that you're building something for exibition & match racing. We get alot of newbies on here with big ideas that don't make sense as you can imagine! Keep us updated on your progress & get involved with NHAA, we're good folk here...
