people are always trying to suggest "helpful" ideas about how i can improve the casket compartment. mine is going to stay completely stock. IMO, the coach is for driving me, and what ever girl i happen to be seeing at the time. if i had wanted to haul around a bunch of bozos, i'd have gotten a minivan or SUV.

A coach at one of the Chariots of the Dead meets had a diamondplate platform, almost exactly the size of the casket table. Bolted to it was a leather minivan seat. The entire platform was held in place with bier pins. At any time, the platform could be pulled out and the original casket table still existed. I thought it was amazingly creative. The only change I might make to it would be to convert the casket table to a dual bier pin system so it'd be more secure.

Hearse Con, be there or accept your role as a bitter failure at life.

Personally I don't get it, and I am behind a LOT of silly hearse mods. The two I never really get behind are when people cut the whole landau area off to make a giant El Camino out of a hearse, or when they remove all the casket rollers. To me, the casket compartment is what makes the hearse to begin with, and the added foot room is never all that substantial. The other thing is, if people want to cruise with you in your cool ass hearse, being a little cramped in the back is their price to pay for arriving in style. Also, beanbag chairs are a great compromise and cost less and give you less headache.

The minivan seat I hate to say but it looks very tacky and out of place there. When fold away seats are mentioned I think everyone means something a bit more hidden when folded. http://www.motherproof.com/images/up...50jumpseat.jpg Something like that which disappears.

Personally, I'm more then happy with the Jump seats that came with my car originally. By pushing the coffin to one side, I find I can keep one of the Jump seats unfolded, and still have room for a coffin. If I wanted a larger seating area for passengers who aren't living impaired, I would have gotten a passenger Limousine to begin with.

"I want one jump seat on either side of the casket"
Well that is possible if you use a casket intended for a fashion model, it would then be able to fit between a pair of Jump seats facing the same direction. You could also section the casket to reduce its width, and then paint flames on the casket, and weld 59 Caddy Fins to it, to give that casket an Uber Cool look.

Wanted extra seating for my 1962 combo, so purchased a extra set of ambulance jump seats and installed them on the left side, keeping the rollers and slides intacked, made reliefs for the rollers when the seats are in the up position. Elvira now seats eight comfortably and converts to haul any type casket, which I build, sell and deliver....

I'm wanting to put in extra seating in my 79 miller meteor fleetwood landau. I'd love to be able to do it without removing the table or heavily modding it. I don't want people to be having to have their legs outstretched to be able to ride though. All my friends would ride back there just like it is, but not only is that not safe to do its probably illegal.
