  • hearse club rules

We are needing to get bi-laws for our hearse club. I know the Dead Ends has their's posted on here. If any other club has there online and doesn't mind sharing we would appreciate it.

Here's a few from the Coffin Cartel:

    #1: NO ASS HATS ALLOWED!
#2: If a member hosts a CLUB party or function, the host may set guidelines with the exception of excluding other members.
#3: no member on member bashing. Members responsible for instigation of member bashing, or degradation of other members with be subject to a 3 strikes policy. The 3rd strike results in excommunication from the club and its activities.
#4: Members must wash the club President's coach or coaches on the 3rd Friday of every month.

I used to belong to a hearse club based in Orange County that did not allow opinionated women... but i would not recommend making that a law.

The PCS? I mean they certainly act gay enough. They might as well host pride festivals instead of club meets.

Anyway we have a list up at http://mortiscity.com/about.php and for the lazy I will copy them here.

            Code:
[LIST][*] You must actually own a hearse. If you lose your hearase you have to actively be trying to get another one (the time limit is from when you first joined to when you lost it, or one solar year, whichever is longer.)[*] You must live in a county within 50 miles of Detroit and inside the great state of Michigan. This includes the following [URL="http://mortiscity.com/mccmap.png"]counties[/URL]:[LIST=1][*] Wayne[*] Macomb[*] Oakland[*] Washtenaw[*] Monroe[*] St. Clair[*] Lapeer[*] Genesee[*] Livingston[*] Lenawee[/LIST]
[*] You must attend at least two events a year OR suggest two events of your own that we can attend with you.[*] Don't push your personal views (political, religious, sports teams, pizza toppings, etc...) on anyone.[*] We are a family, so help your fellow club members out when you can (but don't let yourself be taken advantage of in the process.)[/LIST]

Travlinman, no need to worry. We don't have the 50 mile rule in NOLA. Lollz... tho we can always change it. Muhahahahah

Nah, we love ya, Ray... and not just for your 3 way either!

NOLAhearse actually doesn't have any official rules. We try to keep things 'laid back' but if the need arises, we may pirate from y'all one day

Scary guy - do you get much turnover of members who lose their coaches?

Im sure rules have Their place. Usually They are in place because something happened to make it. I drive the 72 to NOLA about 10 times a year, 160 mile round trip. A little interstate, but mostly a bad dark Hw most of the way. I have 4 vehicles insured now that I pay for. On 2 day events I tow, where My pets have a place to stay. I brought out the 3 way to a show last year. It was not road ready at the time and is not licensed or insured. Trailering was the only option. I'm not here downing Anybody's rules, some just don't work in My situation. Also, no Asshats allowed? I'd be banned again!

We just lost one member and she took it a little hard. Her husband (piece of shit I kicked out of the club afterward) treated her like shit and then left her taking the hearse with him to (last I heard) Vegas. I left her on the roster until November when I had to take her off. She had a stroke and can't drive either but she was hoping so hard to find a way. I felt like an asshole but I didn't make these rules to be ignored and hold everyone to the same standard. We're a hearse club, not an enthusiast club. However if someone has been an owner for 5 years they're good for five years, unless the original ownership period cannot be verified, then it's club join date.)

Luckily the haunt industry is pretty kickin' up here, so we have no shortage of owners. Unfortunately most of them have thrown in with the JHA guys. This is partly why I've limited the area for membership as well. I don't want to "take over" their territory because I like those guys, and I figure gas is expensive and most probably won't want to drive farther than 50 miles regularly for events. The other reason is because I'd thrown in with the NHAA as a charter club and didn't see a need to accept members nationally when we already do here, which is why I put in to either find a closer club or start your own if none exists.

All of this can be voted upon though by members and they can modify/add/remove rules and even vote me out if they want.

we also hang with a local camaro firebird club. its kinda of a long story with that club and is rather heart breaking. clubs like these are meant to be fun. i still like camaros and birds , we own 2 of each. i've seen that club with major drama and even to this day it still has many problems. it really sucks cuz there is nothing like getting everyone together. i do wish i would have bought a hearse many years ago. the worst thing i saw in the other club was bi laws that were a front. stuff was never organized and almost everything planned would fall apart. the stupid part was there was a message board for all members to use, but yet many times gatherings would occur and many were left out due to someone not liking a certain person, i hated that part. with nola we use this board and facebook to let everyone know whats going on, we even text to those who do so ( ray would be the only exception since he still uses a rotary phone lol) i've always felt like if you dont like someone dont talk to them, there are enough people in the group to move around. with nola i like everyone we hang out with, we all seem to basically have the same interest and are on the same level unlike the camaro firebird club. nola has no written bi laws, but on the site we only make someone an offical member if they have a car that fits with us. others are considered honorary members like kellie was until she got her car. we have a few that hang out and will more than likely have a hearse one day.

as some of you know, dead ends has had trouble in the past with some drama-mongers. most of our rules are there to keep drama to a minimum.

Its really sad when clubs loose members because of a person or persons causing conflict with other members....i really dislike that....cant we all just get along?
