Thank you Atti for the heads up. Went to Walmart and the JL rack was full. It has had the same few cars on the rack for a couple of months now, so I didn't expect to find any and found 3.

I don't take back what I said about only 1 per case being bullshit.
But I do say thank you for the heads up. Actually found one at a local wal mart tonight. And also found a 1965 mustang 2+2 fastback white lightning. First WL I have ever found.

well said. im a casual diecast collector. id love to have a few of these but im about 30 miles from any walmart, tru, or target. and i have to pay 17 dollars in tolls to get there. so its probly worth it to buy of fleabay or osomething but im not excited about getting gouged on a $2 car...oh well maybe ill stumble across one in my travels to the big city hah!

*additionally im doublely erked as i have hearses AND a 57 chevy...*

I got mine tonight. Just happened to be by a Wal-mart, so I stopped in. It was on the pegs with 8 other cars, so someone passed it up and left it for me I am an avid collector of diecast hearses, but have not hunted for any cars in the last 2 months. If you don't get it when they are in stores, just wait a bit. The gottahaveit's will get theirs and the price will come down on Ebay...

Granted the nhaa could have been considers a limited edition. By these are just standard jl's.
I understand what you're saying. However, the realism is that both the R12 NHAA ambulance and now R15 silver hearse have been released in the same numbers. So they're all 'limited edition' by default along with the other 11 cars in either case or none are - depending on how one views it. Having an NHAA logo on cardboard doesn't make it limited in and of itself. Each JL released this year in the Forever 64 line has been 1 per case; 1 case and done.

JL benefits through popularity and brand interest. There are usually peg warmers in every release - that's the nature of the beast. There are many more Tri5 collectors than hearse collectors out there keeping this casting hot!

Now would you have preferred not receiving a head's up for next time..?

I spent prolly more in gas searching every Toys R Us, Wal Mart and Target within 30 miles when the NHAA came out.
Gave up for a while, and after the initial frenzy, found one on eBay coupled with the black '57 for around $12.oo (yes, I got lucky)
Now I look for the lensey matchbox anytime I walk past the diecast aisle.

Here is an NHAA ambulance for $12.75

Back here in the woods, we don't get things as easily or quickly. Tonight we went to wal mart to look for these. They only had 6 jl's. All of them were series 9.
Its at least 10 miles to the closest wal mart. And withgas prices,... I have probably spend a couple hundred dollars looking for the nhaa cars and never found one on a shelf

They started showing up late last night on Ebay - including two rare White Lightning versions, one currently just over $30, the other $39.99 Buy It Now w/ free shipping. Might not be worth $40 to YOU but it is lower than I anticipated. NHAA ambulance WLs hovered around $60 when they came out and have held value well.

TTP had 2 turn up (overnight) as well and end already, selling for $10.25 and $12.50 each respectively.

This R-15 showed up on eBay today (same silver as above)

After poking around for awhile online, I found 2 diecast sites that have both cases and individual cars for sale. The hearse is already sold out from each!

    Here's a peek~

Not the same color as White Lightning version previously posted.

    ***BREAKING TIME SENSITIVE NEWS***

JL Release 15 has finally started showing up at Walmarts in various parts of the US within the last 2 days. As of this writing, there are none even available 2nd hand via eBay or toy sites yet. Again, 1 '57 Chevy hearse per case of 12; one case and done. These will NOT hang on pegs long (if at all, given feedback already) - best bet is to try and snag one as they come in. So if you want this version, try one of these options and do not delay:

    1. Stop @ a Walmart and look, pronto. If R15 isn't on pegs, have an associate scan the UPC of remaining cars. They all have the same UPC. 12/24/36 can be either On Order (more than a week out), Warehouse (3/- days), In Transit (usually same day, sometimes next), or In Store (might be box in back not yet on floor).

    2. Call Walmart corporate 800-WALMART and have store stock checked in your radius, use this UPC:

Have them run 036881 502982, then 36881 50298 (sometimes dropping end numbers works better). This method isn't as reliable as checking in store (counts can be off, no UPC difference between release series, can't tell what is coming in) but does save time/gas.

Don't cry later if you miss out!

Here is the first hearse on the net from the latest JL15 release - and it happens to be a White Lightning! Note white interior and white base.

Release 14 is slated for May delivery...perhaps Tom Z can relay how Release 15 is already showing up. Anyway, keep your eyes open at Walmart (primarily) for these $2 hearses. As experienced with the NHAA Ambulance, this is only 1 per case of 12.

Well at least you found one. Although you probably spent more in gas than if you had just gotten it off e-bay :/
