Damn I had one of those when I was like 16 or 17. I had to work on it almost every time I drove the damn thing. It caught on fire twice but since I was warned about this problem before I bought it I always carried a fire ext. It was mounted to the pass side floor. Long story short, it broke down on me durring a snow storm and that was the final straw. After dragging it home behind a friends 4X4 we released all of our aggression on it. Want ta know the funny part about the whole thing? We barrowed a friends backhoe and burried it next to the pond on my parrents property. Shit we even made a tomb stone for it out of concrete. Gawd I hated that car but I would like to have another Beetle like my old 1968. Damn that was a fun car. I could drive for two weeks on $10 and never touched the engine.
